I was tasked with developing a series of conceptual infographics to communicate medical statistics and public health data in a clear, engaging and visually accessible way. The client encouraged creative thinking and wanted the concepts to move beyond conventional chart and infographic design.
The objective was to transform complex numerical information into visuals that could be understood quickly and accurately, using colour, iconography and composition to highlight key messages without oversimplifying the data.
I explored a range of data visualisation techniques, selecting chart styles, icons and layouts that could best suit each set of data. Rather than presenting figures as text alone, I used visual hierarchy, proportion and colour to guide the viewer's attention and make comparisons easier to interpret at a glance. Throughout the concepts, I focused on balancing accuracy with clarity, ensuring the designs remained informative while being engaging and accessible.
The concepts demonstrated a range of approaches to communicating complex data visually and strengthened my skills in information design, data visualisation and translating statistics into clear, user-focused graphics. Although the concepts were not ultimately published, they informed my approach to presenting complex information in an intuitive and engaging way.
