Myself and my team were commissioned to design a clinical consensus interactive PDF and other supporting assets to help communicate best practices regarding patient hygiene for healthcare professionals. The publication needed to present detailed clinical content in a clear, engaging and accessible format while maintaining scientific credibility. The objective was to transform a text-heavy medical documents into an engaging designs that  improved both readability and navigation.
We developed a clean editorial design system supported by a series of bespoke illustrations that brought the clinical content to life. The illustrations were centred around the concept of the ripple effect, representing how good or poor patient hygiene can influence outcomes beyond the individual patient, particularly following surgery. This visual narrative reinforced the key message while making the content more engaging and memorable.
The publication uses clear typography, hierarchy and navigation to break down the complex clinical guidance into manageable sections. A supporting infographic (below) distilled the most important statistics and recommendations into a concise, visual format while maintaining the same illustration style and visual language, creating a cohesive suite of materials.
The completed booklet, infographic and other assets transformed the complex clinical guidance into an accessible and visually engaging resource for healthcare professionals. The ripple effect concept provided a memorable visual framework that reinforced the importance of patient hygiene while creating a consistent identity across all materials. This project strengthened my skills in editorial design, information design, illustration and developing visual systems that communicate complex messages with clarity.
